The Mets have announced that relief pitcher Kelvim Escobar will undergo shoulder surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2010 campaign. Escobar has not pitched in a game this season.
- SNY.TV's Kevin Burkhardt reported that multiple members of the Mets staff have confirmed that Mike Pelfrey experienced tightness in his shoulder before & after his start on Saturday so he underwent an MRI. The Results reportedly came back negative and he is slated to make his next start.
